Missouri man puts sparkle in Princess

The Decatur Daily-- Tim Dunn believes he's the country's only specialist in the colorful structural glass used in many Art Deco and Art Moderne buildings of the 1920s and 1930s.

The Missouri man travels around the country restoring and replacing this pigmented glass, and he's popped in and out of Decatur for several weeks to work on the Princess.

"Vitrolite was a slick finish for the look of that era," he said, and he pointed out the "speed lines," or accent strips that form a design high on the building.

The Princess is the sixth performing arts theater or movie house he's worked on in two years,
